Tron Legacy Movie Review, Pictures and Trailer

| |

I decided to check out the new movie Tron Legacy at the Dunkirk Movieplex 8, 10520 Bennett  Road Dunkirk, NY and do a quick review.  I’ll never forget how fun it was to watch the original TRON from 1982 at the Chautauqua Mall in Lakewood, New York.

Back in the early 80′s, I thought the effects for the movie were incredible and I enjoyed the gladiatorial games.

Being a huge TRON fan, I was looking forward to seeing this film with today’s CGI and superior special effects.  The women in this movie looked incredible, especially the ones that were dressing up Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) and preparing him for the gladiator games.  Beau Garrett, who played the character Gem, was stunning in this film.

There are certain degrees of familiarity with this film and the original, but the overall story was lacking for me.  I could not enjoy the plot and if they make another one, I hope they will create a movie that really involves the viewer, because I felt left out of this one.  Did I find myself captivated by this digital world, my answer is yes and no.  The action scenes were great and there was plenty of enticing visuals, but I was not so keen on the CGI of Jeff Bridges younger look-alike avatar Clu.

Olivia Wilde, Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner and Garrett Hedlund did a good job with their acting scenes considering the storyline.  One important point I don’t want to overlook in this review is the soundtrack by Daft Punk.  Daft Punk’s musical contribution to this film may excite the pleasure center of your brain.

It was a blast to watch the thrilling action take place on the grid with the light cycle wars and I sure would like to enter into a virtual reality someday, where I could drive a light cycle in a three-dimensional digital environment for a high speed adrenaline rush!  Would you like to enter a cyber universe like TRON?

Below I have added a few pictures and the movie trailer for the TRON Legacy movie.
